Vibra-TITE MP 5430

Main features

  • Easy 1:1 Meter-Mix Dispensing
  • Fast 20- to 30-Minute Handling Cure
  • High-Strength Epoxy Bonding

Product Description

H.B. Fuller MP-5430 is a two-component, unfilled epoxy structural adhesive formulated at a 1:1 volume ratio for cartridge, meter-mix, or static-mix dispensing. The clear, free-flowing system reaches handling cure in 20 to 30 minutes at room temperature and full cure in 24 hours at 23 deg C. Typical cured properties include 48.3 MPa tensile strength, 80 Shore D hardness, and 15.9 MPa overlap shear strength on acid-etched aluminum at 25 deg C and 50% RH. MP5430 bonds metals, ceramics, and most plastics for structural assembly applications.

Key features

  • Easy 1:1 Meter-Mix Processing: Equal-volume mixing suits dual cartridges, meter-mix equipment, and static-mix application.
  • Fast Handling Cure: Handling cure is normally reached in 20 to 30 minutes, with full cure in 24 hours at 23 deg C.
  • Cured Structural Properties: Typical tensile strength is 48.3 MPa and hardness is 80 Shore D under the specified ASTM test methods.

Applications

Structural bonding of metals, ceramics, and most plastics.

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
