PERMABOND MH199

Main features

  • Non-Shimming Formed-In-Place Flange Gasketing
  • Highly Thixotropic Application for Metal Flanges
  • High-Temperature Resistance up to 200 deg C

Product Description

Permabond MH199 is a highly thixotropic anaerobic formed-in-place gasket maker for metal flange assemblies and elevated-temperature sealing. It forms between mating metal surfaces without a shimming effect, preserving surface-to-surface contact while replacing a wide range of conventional formed gaskets. The product fills gaps up to 0.5 mm and reaches typical handling strength on M10 steel in 20 minutes at 23 deg C. After cure, MH199 does not shrink, creep or relax, so bolt re-tightening is not required. Its documented high-temperature resistance extends up to 200 deg C, combining non-shimming flange gasketing with high-temperature capability.

Key features

  • Non-shimming flange gasket: Forms in place while preserving surface-to-surface contact between mating metal flanges.
  • Highly thixotropic application: Viscosity is 225,000 cP at 2 rpm and 75,000 cP at 20 rpm at 25 deg C.
  • High-temperature resistance up to 200 deg C: Documented high-temperature resistance extends up to 200 deg C.

Applications

Formed-in-place gasketing of metal flanges; high-temperature flange sealing; applications benefiting from a highly thixotropic non-shimming gasket material.
