PERMABOND A1024

Main features

  • Low-Viscosity Wicking Application
  • Preassembled Metal-Joint Sealing
  • Single-Component Anaerobic Cure

Product Description

PERMABOND A1024 is a single-component, low-viscosity anaerobic material for wicking and sealing close-fitting metal assemblies. Its fluid profile is intended for fine clearances and can be applied to close-fitting or preassembled metal components where anaerobic cure is appropriate. The product combines retaining and sealing functions in cylindrical or closely mated metal joints rather than relying on a high-build adhesive layer. A1024 is useful for post-assembly access to fine metal interfaces and for applications where adhesive must penetrate a narrow joint by capillary action. Use is limited to wicking, retaining and sealing close-fitting metal components.

Key features

  • Low-Viscosity Wicking Grade: Low-viscosity flow is used for capillary-style application into fine clearances in close-fitting metal assemblies.
  • Anaerobic Metal-Joint Cure: Single-component anaerobic chemistry is used for retaining and sealing close-fitting metal interfaces.
  • Preassembled Joint Access: Applications include wicking or sealing of close-fitting and preassembled metal components.

Applications

Wicking and sealing close-fitting or preassembled metal components and fine gaps where anaerobic cure is appropriate.

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
