LORD 7545-A

Main features

  • Multi-Curative Work-Time Flexibility
  • Equal-Volume System Mixing
  • Manual or Automated Dispensing

Product Description

LORD 7545-A Resin is the brown paste resin component used with compatible LORD 7545 curatives to form equal-mix, two-component urethane adhesive systems. It has a typical Brookfield viscosity of 25,000 to 70,000 cP at 77 deg F (25 deg C) and a density of 12.5 to 12.8 lb/gal. The resin mixes 1:1 by volume with the selected curative, allowing the 7545 system to be configured for working times from 1.5 to 65 minutes at 75 deg F (24 deg C). Handheld cartridges or automatic meter/mix/dispense equipment can be used for application. LORD 7545-A is supplied as Part 1 and is not a complete adhesive without an appropriate curative.

Key features

  • Common resin component: Pairs with compatible LORD 7545 curatives to create configuration-specific working and handling times.
  • Equal-volume mixing: Mixes with the selected curative at a 1:1 ratio by volume for cartridge or bulk dispensing.
  • Flexible dispensing methods: Can be applied with handheld cartridges or automatic meter/mix/dispense equipment as part of the mixed system.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
230000-650000 mPa.s
Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
93 °C
Glass Transition Temperature (Tg)
The glass transition temperature for organic adhesives is a temperature region where the polymers change from glassy and brittle to soft and rubbery. Increasing the temperature further continues the softening process as the viscosity drops too. Temperatures between the glass transition temperature and below the decomposition point of the adhesive are the best region for bonding. The glass-transition temperature Tg of a material characterizes the range of temperatures over which this glass transition occurs.
47 °C
Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
