LORD 7433

Main features

  • 25-51 um Recommended Wet Film
  • 50,000-150,000 cP Viscosity
  • Single-Component Moisture Cure

Product Description

LORD 7433 is a single-component, moisture-cure urethane adhesive for hose manufacturing, forming bonds between reinforcement yarns, thermoplastic tubing and thermoplastic protective coverings. It is supplied as a blue liquid with typical viscosity of 50,000-150,000 cP at 25 deg C and 100% solids by weight. Application can use dip/wipe or glue-gun methods, with heating as needed to facilitate dispensing. A wet film thickness of 25-51 um is recommended. The product requires no component mixing and no oven or other heat source for cure.

Key features

  • Film Application: A wet film thickness of 25 to 51 um is recommended.
  • Dispensing Rheology: Typical as-supplied viscosity is 50,000 to 150,000 cP at 25 deg C.
  • No-Mix Moisture Cure: The single-component adhesive is applied without mixing and cures without an oven or other heat source.

Applications

Hose manufacturing with reinforcement yarns, thermoplastic tubing and thermoplastic protective coverings.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application

Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
