LOCTITE EA 9820
Harmonization Code : 3907.30.00.40 | Epoxy Mold Compounds containing by weight more than 70 % silicon dioxide
Main features
- Extended >8-Hour Work Life
- Low-Flow Honeycomb Potting
- High Compressive Strength Syntactic Fill
Product Description
LOCTITE EA 9820 AERO is a one-component aerospace epoxy syntactic potting compound for honeycomb composite structures. The amber material is an intermediate-density syntactic with high compressive strength for fastener and attachment potting and panel-edge reinforcement. Work life after thaw is greater than 8 hours at 25 deg C, while vertical flow is less than 0.1 in after 30 minutes at either 25 deg C or 52 deg C in vertical-flow testing. Dual heat-cure schedules are available at 121 deg C and 177 deg C. Applications include honeycomb fastener potting, attachment potting, and panel-edge reinforcement.
Key features
- Extended work life: Work life after thaw is greater than 8 hours at 25 deg C.
- Low vertical flow: Vertical flow is less than 0.1 in after 30 minutes at 25 deg C or 52 deg C.
- High compressive strength: ASTM D695 ultimate compressive strength is 155.9 MPa at 25 deg C after a 121 deg C cure.
Applications
Applications include honeycomb fastener and attachment potting plus panel-edge reinforcement.
