LOCTITE AA 3108

Main features

  • Fast UV-Cure Potting
  • High-Elongation Cured Protection
  • Dielectric Encapsulation Performance

Product Description

LOCTITE AA 3108 is a one-part, medium-viscosity UV-curing acrylated urethane/acrylic material for potting and sealing rigid assemblies. The translucent, colorless liquid is designed primarily for glass-to-metal joints and other dissimilar rigid substrates exposed to thermal cycling. On glass, fixture can be achieved in 15 seconds or less at 50 mW/cm^2 measured at 365 nm using a medium-pressure mercury arc light source. After a 30-second cure at 100 mW/cm^2 using an electrodeless D bulb, typical properties include 330% elongation, 7.91 N/mm^2 tensile strength, and 37 kV/mm dielectric breakdown strength. The flexible cured material is suitable for evaluation where electrical insulation is important; cure and bond performance depend on light intensity, wavelength, geometry, and substrate.

Key features

  • Fast UV fixture: Glass reaches fixture strength in 15 seconds or less at 50 mW/cm^2 measured at 365 nm using a medium-pressure mercury arc light source.
  • Cured elongation: Typical elongation at break is 330% after a 30-second cure at 100 mW/cm^2 using an electrodeless D bulb.
  • Dielectric breakdown strength: Typical value is 37 kV/mm by IEC 60243-1 after a 30-second cure at 100 mW/cm^2 using an electrodeless D bulb.

Applications

Potting and sealing glass-to-metal joints and other dissimilar rigid substrates subject to thermal cycling.
