Product Description
DOWSIL EG-1200 Gel is a two-part, transparent silicone gel with a 1:1 mix ratio for optical coupling and electronics encapsulation. It cures in 2 hours at room temperature or in 60 minutes at 32 deg C, and typical viscosity is 1,790 mPa s. The cured gel has a typical Shore 00 hardness of 51, dielectric strength of 450 V/mil, tensile strength of 43 psi, and thermal conductivity of 0.15 W/(m K). The soft, optically clear material is used for display and LED optical coupling as well as encapsulation, stress relief, electrical insulation, and environmental protection of electronic assemblies.
Key features
- Equal-ratio gel mixing: The two-part transparent gel uses a 1:1 mix ratio.
- Dual-temperature cure schedule: Cure time is 2 hours at room temperature or 60 minutes at 32 deg C.
- Dielectric strength: Typical dielectric strength is 450 V/mil.
Applications
Optical coupling in display and LED assemblies; encapsulation, stress relief, mechanical protection, electrical insulation, and environmental protection of electronics.
