Product Description
DOWSIL 52 Additive is a silicone additive for improving slip and mar resistance in water-borne coatings, inks, and paints. It is designed for incorporation and dispersion and can be used alone or with wax emulsions. Typical kinematic viscosity is 3,000 to 5,000 cSt, and nonvolatile content is 62 to 67%. The additive is used at low addition levels in acrylic- and polyurethane-dispersion wood coatings, inks, overprint varnishes, and interior or exterior paints.
Key features
- Slip and mar resistance: The additive is used to improve slip and mar resistance in water-borne systems.
- Kinematic viscosity: Typical kinematic viscosity is 3,000 to 5,000 cSt.
- Nonvolatile content: Typical nonvolatile content is 62 to 67%.
Applications
Water-borne wood coatings; inks and overprint varnishes; interior and exterior paints.
