BOSTIK SGH0005-03A

Main features

  • Quick-Tack Assembly Fixturing
  • Flexible Moisture-Cured Thermoset Bond
  • Steel, Wood and Plastic Bonding

Product Description

Bostik Supergrip H0005-03A is a solvent-free, one-component moisture-curing urethane adhesive supplied as a solid reactive hot melt. It is applied at 110 to 120 deg C, then reacts with ambient moisture to form a cross-linked thermoset bond without additional heat for cure. A 4 to 7 minute open time and good green strength with quick tack support efficient assembly handling. The cured film reaches 3,700 psi tensile at break and 1,400% elongation at break after the specified seven-day cure. Applications include automotive speaker assembly and general product assembly to steel, wood, and selected plastics.

Key features

  • Reactive Hot-Melt Processing: Solid adhesive is applied hot, then moisture cures to a cross-linked thermoset bond.
  • Quick-Tack Assembly Handling: Good green strength and quick tack aid fixture handling during assembly.
  • Flexible Multi-Substrate Bonding: The adhesive is used for flexible bonds to steel, wood, and selected plastics.

Applications

Automotive speaker assembly and general product assembly to steel, wood, and selected plastics.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application

Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
