ARALDITE DY026

Main features

  • 110 to 115 g/eq Epoxy Equivalent Weight
  • Difunctional Epoxy Reactive Diluent
  • Composite and Electrical Epoxy Formulations

Product Description

ARALDITE DY 026 is a clear, low-viscosity difunctional reactive diluent for epoxy resins used in composite and electrical formulations. It has an epoxy equivalent weight of 110 to 115 g/eq by ISO 3001, density of 1.08 g/cm^3 at 25 deg C, and viscosity of 11 to 15 mPa s at 25 deg C by ISO 12058-1. Flash point is at least 156 deg C by ISO 2719. The material is also used as an adhesion promoter and flexibilizer in epoxy formulations, including high-temperature epoxy adhesive formulations.

Key features

  • 110 to 115 g/eq epoxy equivalent: Epoxy equivalent weight is 110 to 115 g/eq by ISO 3001.
  • 11 to 15 mPa s viscosity: Low as-supplied viscosity is 11 to 15 mPa s at 25 deg C by ISO 12058-1.
  • Reactive formulation function: The difunctional diluent is used as an adhesion promoter and flexibilizer in epoxy formulations.

Applications

Epoxy formulation in composites, electrical applications, electrical components, and high-temperature epoxy adhesive formulations.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application

Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
> 156 °C
