ALPHA EF-6103

Main features

  • 3.6 wt% Solids Content
  • Wave and Selective Soldering
  • 360-Day Shelf Life

Product Description

ALPHA EF-6103 is a low-solids, alcohol-based no-clean liquid flux for wave and selective soldering. Typical as-supplied data include 3.6 wt% solids, specific gravity of 0.796 +/- 0.004 at 25 deg C, a 360-day shelf life, and IPC J-STD-004B classification ORL0. It can be applied by spray or foam. Typical processing uses 95 to 125 deg C top-side preheat, 2 to 7.5 seconds of lead-free wave solder contact, and 2 to 5 seconds for selective soldering.

Key features

  • Dual soldering process fit: The flux is applied in both wave and selective soldering processes.
  • IPC flux classification: J-STD-004B designation is ORL0.
  • 360-day shelf life: This is the typical storage period for the as-supplied liquid flux.

Applications

Wave soldering and selective soldering using spray or foam flux application.

Technical Specifications

General Properties
Appearance
Appearance at room temperature.
Clear, light amber liquid
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
0.796±0.004
Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
12 °C
